Zack Braunstein

With 15 years of experience across climate, philanthropy, and multilateral finance, Zack helps mission-driven organizations structure and implement strategies that deliver real impact. A former farmer and teacher turned strategist, he has led projects ranging from coordinating COVID response efforts at the New York State Department of Health, to serving as Chief of Staff at the philanthropic regranter the Climate Emergency Collaboration Group. He has collaborated with institutions across sectors, including the United Nations, the World Economic Forum, and leading philanthropies such as CIFF, Rockefeller, IKEA, Sequoia, OSF, and Hewlett.

Zack’s areas of focus include sustainable finance, multilateral negotiations, regenerative agriculture, emerging technologies, narrative strategy, organizational development, and movement building, connecting systems thinking with real-world application across sectors.

At Climate Connectors, Zack focuses on high-impact gaps and opportunities in the ecosystem. His work includes partnership development, stakeholder convening, systems design, and strategic advising. Past engagements have involved aligning multilateral actors around COP outcomes, catalyzing new philanthropic collaboratives, mapping the climate finance ecosystem, co-designing green bond frameworks, and mobilizing funding and for climate action and a just transition.

In addition to his consulting work, Zack currently serves on the board of Work on Climate, where he advises on climate strategy, org development, and institutional impact.

Zack operates independently, collaborating with a trusted network of experts across climate finance, policy, and narrative strategy to co-create focused, actionable pathways toward lasting systems change.
